This notice explains how General Gasket Service s.r.l. processes the personal data of visitors to this website, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

No data protection officer (DPO) has been appointed, because the law does not require one for this activity.

2. What data we process, why and for how long

• Browsing data (IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser and device type, referring website): used to run the website and protect it from abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept by the hosting provider for as long as is necessary for the security and operation of the service.
• Messages you send us directly (email, telephone): the data you choose to give us, used to reply to you and follow up on your request. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or, if you write for other reasons, our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f)). Retention: as long as is necessary to handle the request and, if no business relationship follows, up to 24 months.

We do not process special categories of data (health, opinions, origin and the like): please do not include them in your messages. We carry out no profiling and no automated decision-making.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device: there are no technical cookies, no analytics cookies and no profiling cookies. There are no traffic analysis tools and no third-party service is loaded by these pages. That is why no banner appears: there is nothing to accept or refuse.

• The typefaces are served by this website itself: while browsing you do not contact Google or any other external provider.
• On the Contact page the map is not embedded: there is a link that opens Google Maps in a new tab. Only if you click it does your browsing data reach Google, and from that point Google's privacy notice applies.
• The same applies to the LinkedIn link shown in the contact details.

4. Contact form

The form on the Contact page sends an email to info@ggs-srl.it: we receive your name, your company, your email address, your telephone number, the subject you select and your message. The legal basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The website stores nothing: there is no archive and no database — your enquiry only lives in our mailbox. We keep it for as long as it takes to reply and, if no business relationship follows, for no more than 24 months. A hidden field, invisible to anyone filling in the form, is only there to stop automated programs.

5. Who we may share data with

Data is never sold or transferred for third parties' commercial purposes and is never disseminated. It may be shared with:

• the hosting and email provider, Aruba S.p.A. (Italy), which hosts both the website and the info@ggs-srl.it mailbox and acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR;
• the professionals who assist us (for example in tax and legal matters) and the authorities, where the law requires it.

6. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

The website and the mailbox are hosted by Aruba S.p.A. (Italy). We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area. If we ever add a service that involves such a transfer (for example visit statistics or an embedded map), this page will say so before it happens.

7. Your rights

You may at any time ask us to give you access to your data, to correct it, erase it, restrict its processing, receive it in a format readable by another service, or object to the processing (Arts. 15-22 GDPR). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before withdrawal.

To exercise your rights write to info@ggs-srl.it: we reply within one month. If you believe the processing breaches the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (piazza Venezia 11, Rome).

8. Providing data, and minors

Providing data is optional. This website is aimed at companies and professionals and does not knowingly collect data from children under 14.

9. Updates

This notice may change, for example when the website goes live with the contact form switched on. The version in force is always the one on this page.
